‘Wall Street Journal’ U.S. edition to go on sale in London

London—The Wall Street Journal will for the first time sell its U.S. edition in London, starting April 16.

The newspaper will be available at about 250 news dealers in London. The Wall Street Journal Europe, which has a regional readership of about 220,000, will continue to be available in the U.K. and throughout Europe.

Having the U.S. edition printed in London will enable the Journal to compete head-on with the Financial Times, which is based there.

News Corp.—which acquired Dow Jones & Co., publisher of the Journal, in December—owns several London-based newspapers, including The Times and The Sunday Times.
