Warrillow study finds 42% of Canadian small-business owners are mobile

Toronto—Consulting firm Warrillow & Co. found that 42% of Canadian small-business owners spend at least one-third of their time away from the office. These “mobile entrepreneurs” rely on devices including BlackBerries and iPhones to stay connected with their businesses, according to the survey.

The report was based on an online survey of 377 Canadian small-business owners, conducted during the fourth quarter.

It also found the most common tasks conducted over mobile devices include checking cash balances in business bank accounts, analyzing daily sales results and reviewing online advertising results.

Other popular mobile applications include determining if a check has cleared a business bank account, monitoring the sales funnel and tracking packages.
