New York BMA chapter names Verizon’s Harrobin Communicator of the Year

New York—The Business Marketing Association of New York Tuesday named John Harrobin, VP-advertising and digital media for Verizon Wireless, its 2006 Communicator of the Year.

Harrobin was recognized for “his outstanding stewardship” of the Verizon Wireless brand.

The award was presented during a luncheon at Tavern on the Green in Manhattan.” To win in the [business] segment, you have to increase ad spending, have a full experience focused on the needs of the particular business segment and pay careful attention to ‘message architecture,’ ” Harrobin said in accepting the award. “And you must have a strong relationship with key stakeholders to get the message to b-to-b customers.”
