New York Times Co. ad revenue down 6.6% in February

New York—The New York Times Co. reported Tuesday that advertising revenue totaled $148 million in February, down 6.6% from a year earlier. Total revenue declined 2.6% to $240 million.

Ad revenue for About Group, which includes information and advice Web site, grew 20.9% in February. Advertising revenue for Times Co.’s News Media Group, which includes the flagship New York Times, decreased 7.8%, mainly due to weaker classified advertising. Internet advertising revenue for the group rose 14.4%, mainly due to growth in display advertising. Circulation revenue grew 2.4%.
