New York Times Co. announces decreased revenue for May

New York—The New York Times Co. said Wednesday that total company revenue from continuing operations decreased 6.6% in May compared with year-earlier month, with advertising revenue decreasing 11.9% and circulation revenue increasing 1.9%.

Advertising revenue for the News Media Group decreased 13.2% because of weakness in print advertising. The company said that Internet advertising revenue included in the News Media Group continued to increase, rising 14.2% in May.
