Trump Issues Detailed Position Tweet Regarding 'SNL' and Alec Baldwin

By Published on .

On Sunday, presidental candidate Donald J. Trump clearly and decisively revealed his positions regarding both "Saturday Night Live" and Alec Baldwin's portrayal of him on the show, including:

• "Saturday Night Live" is "boring and unfunny";

• It is "time to retire" the show;

• Alex Baldwin's portrayal of Mr. Trump "stinks";

• "Saturday Night Live" is apparently part of a media conspiracy to rig the election.

Mr. Trump's positions, issued in a tweet at 7:14 a.m. ET in the wake of the previous night's airing of the third-week episode of the 42nd season of "Saturday Night Live," may be intended to help counter criticism that his campaign has issued vague and ever-shifting position statements and policy proposals that are thin on details. Although "SNL" posted its highest week-three ratings since 2008, the millions of Americans who did not catch the episode now know not to watch Mr. Baldwin's portrayal of Mr. Trump (below), because it "stinks." Mr. Trump's full tweet also appears below.
