To commemorate its 90th anniversary, Y&R is inviting people to post what advertising means to them in a social conversation that will culminate on a interactive digital billboard in Times Square, today from 2pm to 3.30 E.T. Those who want to participate are invited to go to a website to add their thoughts to a mosaic, using the hashtag #advertisingis.
Y&R is partnering with startup Hyperactivate on the project. Its technology captures avatars from Twitter and Facebook and algorithmically creates a mosaic as people Tweet and post. Users can find their posts and others, as well as uncover hidden content as they interact with the mosaic.
