In today's episode of The Internet Has Everything, Even Things You Don't Want: YouTube sensations Miranda Sings and Rebecca Black (yes, that Rebecca Black) have come together in a musical collaboration for Dunkin' Donuts new Donut Fries.
Ostensibly in honor of National French Fry Day (which is Friday), the music video, "It's Donut Fry-Day," features Sings, well, singing a remix of Black's classic "Friday," only it's about wanting a donut and french fries, and what's a person to do?
The chain is also celebrating Fry Day by handing out a free order of Donut Fries to each of the first 100 guests at 25 participating locations across the country.
Sings is known for her overapplied red lipstick and gratingly nasal voice. Her self-titled YouTube channel boasts 9 million subscribers, with a few million views per video on average. This isn't her first sponsored video: She's previously worked with DiGiorno, Jack in the Box and Old Navy, to name a few.
You may remember Black from YouTube fame—or infamy—when her poorly AutoTuned, cringe-worthy music video dropped to widespread criticism, yet became the most-watched YouTube video of 2011. She more or less had dropped off the earth after the video blew over (with the exception of a self-aware comeback, "Saturday," in 2013).
