Steve Chavez Named CCO at Leo Burnett Detroit; GS&P Adds Two in N.Y. & More

Leo Burnett, Detroit appointed Steve Chavez to lead its creative department in the position of chief creative officer. Previously a global ECD, he was responsible for managing creative product in the agency's client portfolio in the Motor City. Chavez joined Burnett in 2010 as an ECD and was named global ECD in 2012, responsible for the agency's General Motors clients like Buick, GMC and AC Delco. Mr. Chavez is an automotive vet, having also worked on Mazda, out of Doner, and Toyota, out of Saatchi L.A.

Saatchi & Saatchi New York has promoted Justin Ebert to executive creative director. Previously, he was a creative director. He was credited by CCO Con Williamson as being instrumental in bringing home the agency's win for Charter, and has been at the agency since December 2010. He has also spent time at CP&B Boulder.

Former Taxi N.Y. ECD and managing partner Dave Clemans has joined Omnicom Group's Colangelo as ECD. He will be tasked with growing the shop's broadcast and digital capabilities, focusing on integration across all disciplines. While at Taxi, he worked on campaigns for Applegate organic hot dogs and Kraft's MiO. He also helped CHI London establish its new presence in New York. Mr. Clemans' CV also includes stints at Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, The Martin Agency and Crispin Porter + Bogusky, where he worked on the celebrated "Safe Happens" campaign for Volkswagen. Colangelo has offices in Darien, CT., New York and Los Angeles. Its clients include Diageo Nort America, Davidoff, the NFL and Filippo Berio.

Minneapolis agency Colle + McVoy hired Marc Stephens [pictured] as digital creative director, moving from Fallon. The agency counts Caribou Coffee, Novartis and Land o' Lakes as clients. He has experience working on brands like Dell, AmEx and H&R Block. The agency also expanded its digital team, hiring Liza Holzemer as senior interactive producer, Michelle Moore as interactive producer and Nate Warfield as senior creative developer.

Goodby Silverstein & Partners has hired two new creative leads in its New York City office. Scott Hayes joins the shop as a senior copywriter. He has spent time at Wieden & Kennedy, where he worked on ESPN and Jordan Brand. The shop also hired a director of innovation, Jamie Carreiro, who has a background in computer science and filmmaking. He was previously a director and producer at Essence Magazine's production company, Essence TV.

Red Tettemer O'Connell + Partners appointed Adam Leaventon as connection strategist. Reporting directly to the shop's president and chief creative officer Steve Red, Leaventon will be responsible for connections across the agency's clients, which include Under Armour and Planet Fitness. Ad agency Barker DZP has hired Larry Williamson in the position of creative technologist. Williamson was most recently freelancing for clients like ION Television and P&G, and before that, worked at Monster Media, for ads for clients including MTV, Kraft, Disney and YouTube. At Barker DZP, he will be responsible for developing websites, apps and digital experiences and will report to VP of interactive, John Lu.
