BBH New York has hired Ari Weiss as executive creative director on its Axe account. Weiss joins from 180 Los Angeles, where he was the creative director on Sony and Boost Mobile. He began his career in New York as a copywriter at Cliff Freeman and Partners. From there he moved to BBDO before moving to the West Coast where he worked at Wieden & Kennedy and Goodby, Silverstein & Partners. He has won numerous awards for work on brands such as Sony, The NBA, Nike, FedEx, Guinness, BBC and Fox Sports. At BBH, he will work alongside executive creative directors Jon Pearce, Mike Shackle, Calle Sjoenell and Pelle Sjoenell.

Mekanism, the San Francisco digital boutique, has hired Mimi Cook as director of creative and brand strategy. Cook is a former creative director at Apple who helped to launch the iPhone and iPad. She has also worked Goodby, Silverstein & Partners with brands including Banana Republic, Elizabeth Arden and HP. At Mekanism she will be working with clients such as Method, Crocs, Pepsi and Sony.

Co Collective has appointed Conrad Lisco as head of community experience. He will be responsible for helping clients craft the strategy and structure around social media, and will report to co-CEOs Ty Montague and Rosemarie Ryan. Lisco joins from R/GA where he was group director of social media. He has also also worked for agencies such as Kirshenbaum Bond Senecal + Partners, Berlin Cameron United and Crispin Porter Bogusky on brandss including Nike, Walmart, Coca-Cola and Microsoft. He co-founded the social media-based project Town Holler, which leverages Foursquare for live events.
