Digital agency Blast Radius has made two new executive creative director appointments. Former StrawberryFrog creative director Serena Connelly joins as ECD, East Coast. At StrawberryFrog, she was creative director on P&G Pampers, overseeing all digital aspects of the brand and was named on several patents, for her work on a suite of Pampers-branded mobile apps. She has also worked at R/GA and at Leo Burnett, Chicago.

Meanwhile, Mark Waggoner joins as ECD, West Coast, based in Portland. Waggoner is a former ECD of Brand Creative at Razorfish and has also worked at Wieden + Kennedy and Cole & Weber.

New York agency Johannes Leonardo has hired Aaron Phua as creative director, reporting to co-founders Jan Jacobs and Leo Premutico. The appointment will see Phua relocate to New York from Shanghai, where he has spent the past four years with Wieden + Kennedy and BBH developing creative work for brands the likes Nike, Converse, Heineken, Lynx and Coca-Cola. Prior to that, he spent seven with TBWA and Fallon in Singapore and Hong Kong working on Singapore Airlines, Standard Chartered Bank, Hasbro, United Airlines, Volkswagen, Timberland and Citibank among others.

Independent has added director Ed Sayers to its roster. Sayers has worked across a range of media from films, commercials, theatre and live events as both director and producer for clients such as VW, the European Golf Tour Campaign and BT.

Red Car has signed Josh Towvim to join the company's New York office as an editor. Towvim joins Red Car from MacKenzie Cutler, where he spent the past three years. Before that he was at Bug Editorial in New York, where he started as an assistant before being promoted to editor. The move to Red Car reunites him with his former Bug Editorial colleagues Michael Colletta and Keith Olwell, both of whom are now editors on the Red Car New York roster. Towvim's past clients include Volkswagen, Volvo, Sony Ericsson and ESPN, and he has worked with directors including Noam Murro, Jim Jenkins, Mike Maguire, and Phil Morrison.
