Draftfcb New York has appointed Jill Applebaum as senior vice president, group creative director. She was previously creative director at Y&R/BrandBuzz, where she worked on brands including Burt's Bees, the New Jersey Nets, Dymo, Sharpie, and LG Electronics. In her new role, Applebaum will report to Draftfcb New York chief creative officer Darren Moran, and will lead creative efforts on accounts including Oreo and Gevalia.

72andSunny has hired Peter Novosel as interactive creative director. Native Australian Novosel has previously worked for RED Interactive and Draftfcb, on brands including Greenpeace, Honda, FIFA and Motorola. Most recently he helped to create 'BloodCopy', an online social destination for fans of HBO's True Blood.

Publicis Brasil has appointed Leo Macias as creative director. Macias (pictured, far left, with Denis Kakazu, Hugo Rodrigues, Sidney Araujo and Kevin Zung) was previously creative director at Talent, where he oversaw a campaign highlighting the merger of banks Santander and Real. His awards include three Lions at Cannes in 2010, and Best Brazilian Creative at Brazilian advertising awards Cabore the same year.

Original Film has added directors Mikael Salomon and Frank Samuel to its roster. Salomon (left) has shot spots for Jaguar, McDonald's and U.S. Marines as well as feature films such as action thriller Hard Rain and TV episodes for shows including Rome and Band of Brothers. Samuel comes to Original Film from production company NOLA. He has directed spots for brands including Verizon Wireless, M&Ms. IFC Cable, Fox Sports, Oakland A's, Kellogg's and Visa.
