Mother New York has appointed Andy Gray as creative director. Gray most recently served as ECD/managing director at VSA Partners New York. In this role he helped helped Cole Haan transform its brand through identity, advertising, catalogs, and digital experiences, as well as developing campaign work for Sony, Converse and Kiehl's. His career began in New York at Doyle Partners and he has also worked at Hal Riney & Partners in Chicago, W + K in Portland, Martha Stewart Living, and Ogilvy & Mather in New York, working with brands like IBM, Coke, Nike, Microsoft, and The Museum of Modern Art. His work has been recognized by the American Center for Design, American Institute of Graphic Arts, Art Directors Club, Cannes Lions Advertising Festival, Communication Arts, The Effies, and The One Show.

Mullen has added three creative technologists, all previously from the Barbarian Group, to its digital creative and production teams. Senior creative technologist Kenji Ross' previous credits have included work for GE, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Seventeen, Kashi and Burger King (the Subservient Chicken). Senior designer Kim Miller started as a Flash developer at Barbarian and then worked in a design role creating work for GE, Disney, Samsung, Gatorade and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Group head producer Erica Kung previously worked in production leadership on brands including General Electric, Google, Quaker Oats, Esquire, YouTube, HBO, Dove, CNN and

StrawberryFrog NY has hired Chris Valencius as creative director, reporting to Kevin McKeon. Valencius previously worked with Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, where he created created work for Volkswagen, The American Legacy Foundation, and Comcast, among others.

Klaus Heesch, a digital creative director known for his work on the Cannes Lion award-winning "Art of the Heist" campaign for Audi, has joined The Gate Worldwide as senior digital creative director. He will lead The Gate's new digital practice. Prior to joining The Gate he was creative director/owner of Juicy Temples in Orlando, a branding and interactive design firm he founded in 1998. His work there also included acting as interactive creative director on Disney's, planning and designing a website which tied live, in-park photography with online photo- fulfillment.

Seattle advertising and marketing firm Copacino+Fujikado has hired Sitha Ngy as senior art director. Ngy has previously worked at Fallon, Crispin Porter+Bogusky and Publicis on campaigns for brands that include T-Mobile, American Express and Rock For Hunger. His work has been recognized by The One Show, CMYK, the Webbys and the American Advertising Federation.

LA-based music and sound company Barking Owl has signed composer Brian Canning, who has written music for national campaigns including spots for Nike, Target and Old Spice. He signed with Chrysalis Music in 2009 and is currently a writer for artists on the publisher's roster. Canning has worked with producers Phil Ek (The Shins, Fleet Foxes), Andy Paley (The Ramones, Brian Wilson), and Tom Biller (War Paint, Kate Nash, Karen O./Where the Wild Things Are) on various projects as well as playing in his own band, Shadow Shadow Shade.
