Passion Pictures has signed Eric Lerner for worldwide representation. Previously represented by Partizan Lab, Lerner specializes in CG character animation combined with live action and has directed films for brands such as Carphone Warehouse, Puma, O2, Vodafone and Weight Watchers. His 'Bird's Nest' spot for Wieden & Kennedy, Amsterdam, promoting Coca Cola's sponsorship of the Bejing Olympic Games in 2008, won Best New Director at the BTAA Craft Awards. He has also directed music videos and personal film projects.

Hollywood-based City Films has added director James Wahlberg to its directorial roster. Wahlberg, the director of Nickelodeon's TV series The Fresh Beat Band, joins David Denneen, Derek McKane, Phil Meatchem, Kelly Hommon and Sandy Smolan. Wahlberg, who has directed for clients such as AT&T, Budweiser, Disney,Kellogg's, McDonalds and Nintendo, has just wrapped his first projects with City Films, shooting two, 30-second live action spots for Playskool in Vancouver, plus two spots for Heritage Milk.

Quad Productions has signed French director Paul Mignot to its roster. His work includes films for luxury brands such as Armani, Dior, Salvatore Ferragamo and Paco Rabanne, as well as for the likes of Nintendo and Peugeot.

Blue Hive, the WPP company that works primarily on pan-European and global campaigns for Ford of Europe. has appointed Karin Onsager-Birch as executive creative director. Karin joins from Goodby, Silverstein and Partners (GS&P) in San Francisco where she was creative director. Karin will work into Toby Barlow, chief creative officer at Global Team Ford, and report to Tony Grigg, CEO of Blue Hive. She will relocate to London to begin her new role in Mid-May. while current Blue Hive ECD Greg Burke will take up a global role on Ford.
