R/GA New York has appointed Steve Whittier as executive creative director. Whittier, who will work on the Nike account, will report to Nick Law, EVP, chief creative officer, North America. He was most recently integrated creative director on the Land Rover USA business at Young & Rubicam and prior to that worked at several other agencies including Factory Design Labs as VP/creative director and creative director at Leo Burnett Kiev for clients such as Fanta, P&G EU, and Coca-Cola. Whittier has won several Cannes Lions for his work on Land Rover, GE, and Airwalk as well as recognition from The London International Awards, Communication Arts, The Webbys, D&AD and The One Show.

Director Jon Barber has joined production company Interrogate for US representation. His work has included campaigns for Milk with BBDO Montreal, Burger King for TAXI Toronto, Fed Ex with BBDO Toronto, SMART for BBDO Proximity Berlin and Chiquita with Jung von Matt in Hamburg. Barber won two Gold Bessies in 2010 for his online campaign of promos for National Advertising Awards (Canada), which also took gold in the Craft Performance and Writing awards. He was a finalist for the Young Directors Award in Cannes and his work has won awards several times at the One Show.

Pixeldust Studios, the Washington DC and New York-based digital animation and visual design studio, has hired Dianna Costello as executive producer. Costello spent the last six years as the director of business development for yU+co., a motion graphics and visual design studio in Hollywood. Earlier, she served as the director of business development-post production for the Atlanta post-production company, Crawford Communications, and as executive director of the Piedmont Triad Film Commission in North Carolina, during which time she recruited made-for-television movies and features films, including Spike Lee's 'He Got Game'. Before moving to the Southeast, Costello worked in Los Angeles as a freelance producer and production manager for films, television programs and commercials, and was nominated for an Academy Award in 1986 for her short fiction film 'Graffiti.'
