This week's agency moves, hires, and partnerships: July 8, 2019
Javier Campopiano is now chief creative officer, Grey Europe & Global Clients, and will work out of London and Madrid. He joins from FCB Mexico where he was partner and CCO. Prior to that, he served as CCO at Saatchi & Saatchi New York. Under his leadership, the agency created the celebrated ‘It’s a Tide Ad” and "Bradshaw Stain" Super Bowl campaigns as well as work for Walmart. Campopiano also served regional creative director for Ogilvy in Latin America and began his career at Ogilvy Argentina.
R/GA promoted Julie Benevides from senior content producer to executive content producer in the agency’s Chicago office. In the Portland office, Sam Levy was promoted to executive director, client services, and Mike Funk was promoted to group strategy director. Benevides joined the agency in 2014 and has worked in broadcast, video games and VFX production. Levy joined nine years ago and has led the agency’s relationships with Walmart and Verizon. Funk has worked on NikeiD and Jordan and held positions at Oakley Custom and Siegel & Gale.
Thrillist hired Meghan Kirsch as chief content officer. She joins from Vice Media, where she was SVP of creative and marketing. Prior to that, she spent 11 years as VP, brand creative and marketing at A&E Networks, working on A&E, the History Channel, H2 and FYI.
BarrettSF promoted Phil Fattore and Byron Wages to associate creative directors. The pair joined the agency in 2015 and have worked with brands including Bleacher Report, CBS Sports HQ, Humboldt Redwood and Cost Plus World Market.
Julien Sanson joins H&O and Ogilvy Paris as head of production. Previously, he was integrated producer at BBDO Paris, working with brands including Mercedes, Ubisoft, Total and Mars, He was also executive producer at Moonwalk Films and worked with director Luc Besson’s team at Europa Corp.
Sterling-Rice Group hired Annie Turlay as director of integrated production, a new position for the agency. She joins from Crispin Porter & Bogusky, where she was senior producer, leading production for accounts including Infiniti, American Airlines, Hershey’s, Kraft and Applebee’s. Prior to that, she worked at DDB Chicago.
Digital agency Happy Medium promoted Director of Client Experience Kristen Sabin to chief operating officer. She joined the agency seven years ago and has worked on campaigns for clients Mattress Firm and The Art of Education University.
Minneapolis agency Ciceron named Anton Friant as vice president and creative director. He joins from Periscope, where he was digital creative director, and has worked with brands including Warner Music, Be The Match, Google, Target and QuickBooks.
