McCann New York has appointed Susan Young and Daniela Vojta as SVPs and group creative directors in its McCann XBC division, which is built around global client MasterCard. Young and Vojta will report to Joyce King Thomas, president of McCann XBC, and Pete Jones, executive creative director of McCann XBC. Young and Vojta join McCann XBC from Saatchi & Saatchi, where they were named two of Ad Age’s 2013 “Creatives You Should Know” and recognized for their work on P&G’s Tide Pods and the 2013 Super Bowl spot for Tide’s Miracle Stain. Prior to Saatchi, Young worked at Nitro and then KBS+, where she met Vojta. At KBS+, Vojta and Young worked together on brands such as AdCouncil Adopt US Kids, Target and Timex. In 2007, Young left KBS+, but the two rejoined at Saatchi in 2009, and were promoted to co-creative directors.
72andSunny has appointed Grant Holland and Gavin Milner as group creative directors. After meeting at the agency Ground Zero over 15 years ago, the duo worked together at Ogilvy and Team One before most recently serving as creativedirectors at 180 LA. There, they developed campaigns such as “The Bull” and “The Return” for Adidas, Mitsubishi’s “Live Drive”, “Dangerous Road” and “World Record” projects, and Expedia’s “Find Your Understanding”.
TBWA has launched an office of its brand communications consultancy BEING in Shanghai, China. BEING is headquartered in Paris, with additional offices already in New York, Los Angeles, London, Doha, Seoul, Lille and Lyon. Shel Liu joins the agency as general manager and Colin Lee is appointed group creative director, both based in Shanghai. BEING China will be initially staffed with 35 people and clients including AIA, Bosch, Vivo and Tsingtao.
Jesse Gazzuolo has joined Mullen as creative director and copywriter on the Acura account in the agency’s new LA office. Gazzuolo came to Mullen from the Media Arts Lab unit of TBWA/Worldwide, where he was working on Apple. His earlier agency credits include The Martin Agency, where he worked on Xfinity, and Goodby Silverstein, where he worked on Comcast, Nintendo and others.
180 has hired Anja Duering and Carl Corbitt as creative directors in its Los Angeles office. The duo joins 180LA from Goodness MFG. Prior to that, they worked as CDs at Wieden + Kennedy on the global Nokia account, and VP/ACDs on VW and Geek Squad for Crispin Porter + Bogusky in Miami. Duering and Corbitt's work has received award at Cannes, One Show and the ANDYs, among others, on campaigns such as VW's "Safe Happens." They will oversee all work on Boost Mobile and Mitsubishi Motors.
Campfire has hired Nick Braccia as creative director, effective immediately. Braccia joins from G2 USA, where he was the group creative director overseeing the Hertz and Pepperidge Farm Goldfish businesses. Prior to G2 USA, he was the creative director at Deep Focus. Over the course of his career, Braccia has worked on clients including Disney, M&Ms. EA, Sony Pictures, General Motors and Citibank. He is also a member of the Producer's Guild of America and participates in its New Media Council.
Colle+McVoy has hired Sam Soulek as associate design director, a new role at the agency. Soulek joined Colle+McVoy from Mono and has experience working with Apple, Nike, Target, Philips Distilling, Lucy Activewear and Time Warner Cable among others. His work has been recognized by Communication Arts, Esquire Magazine, Graphis, HOW, Print, STEP Inside Design, Graphic Design USA, Creativity Design Annual, RAC Awards (Retail Innovation Awards), MN AdFed’s The Show and AIGA.
The VIA Agency has appointed Chris Gilbert copywriter as one of a number of new hires at the Portland, Maine-based agency. Gilbert previously interned at Mullen working on accounts including JetBlue, U.S. Cellular, Grey Goose, and FAGE Greek Yogurt and freelanced for clients such as Temple University, NORM'S Restaurants, and Petrol Advertising.
