Ant Farm, 22squared, Y&R Build up Creative Leadership
Ant Farm has named Cary Sachs to the newly-created post of president, Television and Streaming. Most recently, Sachs was chief marketing officer and SVP at Pongo. His clients include Freeform, Twentieth Television, Disney Channel, National Geographic Channel, NatGeo Wild, Disney XD, GSN and Freemantle, as well as the Fox, ABC and CBS television networks. Sachs began his career with New Wave Entertainment, and was later lead editor and then director of comedy promotions at Studio City Productions. Years later, he joined Trailer Park, where he became VP and co-founder of Trailer Park TV.
22squared has hired Bryan Lee as creative director. He joins 22squared from BBDO Atlanta, where he spent the past two years creating work for AT&T and Toys R Us, among other clients. Prior to that, he was at CP & B in Boulder, where he was part of the creative team that crafted the "Captain Obvious" campaign for Hotels.com and work for Best Buy, including a spot at the 2012 Super Bowl. He has also produced digital campaigns for Bud Light and Kraft.
Y&R New York has hired Executive Creative Director, Ryan Blum; Director of Interactive and Activation, Catherine Patterson; and Digital Experience Director, Eric Ackley.
Blum will be leading the Navy Partnership and helping to launch Y&R's Memphis office. He joins Y&R from Publicis Seattle, where he was a creative director on T-Mobile. Prior to that he worked in Dallas at The Richards Group and TracyLocke, on brands such as 7-Eleven, Samsung and Texas Lottery. He helped create the Simpsons Kwik-e-Mart for 7-Eleven.
Patterson was most recently at McCann NY, where she created the agency's interactive and experiential unit. She worked with Sims at McCann and led the Nature Valley Trail View project. She also designed the digital and social media launches for the Phoenix Mars Lander program, and for Jose Cuervo on National Margarita Day.
Ackley joins from sister agency Geometry Global, where he was an experience designer, developer and creative technologist. His projects include Great Ritz Holiday Parade, a digital parade for Ritz Crackers; and with brands such as Pepperidge Farm Goldfish, Dos Equis, American Express, Nikon, Volvo and Charles Schwab.
Daniel Fell, president and chief executive officer of ndp (formerly Neathawk Dubuque & Packett), has promoted Grace Viertel to the role of senior art director. Viertel joined ndp in 2008 as an art director.
GoPro has appointed Lauren Zalaznick to its board of directors.She previously held leadership roles at NBCUniversal, arriving with the acquisition of Barry Diller's Universal Television, where she was the president of the critically acclaimed TR!O network and later president of Bravo. Zalaznick is currently a member of the board of directors at Nielsen, Shazam, and Penguin Random House, and an advisor to Greycroft Partners, Refinery29, and Venture For America, where she most recently executive produced the feature length documentary film, "Generation Start-Up," premiering in theaters later this year.
