BMB adds Neil Powell

Creative director Neill Powell has signed on to lead the newly launched New York office of London-based Beattie McGuinness Bungay, the agency formed in 2005 by a trio of TBWA London vets--creative honcho Trevor Beattie, exec Andrew McGuinness and former deputy CD Bil Bungay.

Powell was most recently the creative head at WeAreGigantic, the agency formed out of the consolidation of MDC Partner agencies Margeotes Fertitta Powell and Kirshenbaum Bond + Partners. Powell also boasts years of experience in both advertising and graphic design. He spent nine years at Fallon, where he served as creative director/managing partner while overseeing the agency's design unity Duffy. He then went on to open his own branding agency Powell, which he merged with Margeotes Fertitta and Partners in 2005 to launch Margeotes Fertitta Powell.

The launch of BMB's New York office was announced soon after the agency sold 49% interest of its business last December to Korean-based agency Cheil Worldwide, whose largest client is Samsung Electronics. According to a Cheil press statement, BMB's New York office is just one part of a bigger plan for the agency to start a global micronetwork of shops over the coming years, with new shops added based on opportunities with Cheil and BMB clients.
