Cylo Ceases Spot Operations

Bicoastal production company Cylo TVC has suspended operations, the latest victim of the production industry shakeout. Cylo ITV, the new-media company operated under the same roof and moniker, will remain in business.

Executive producer Beth Kinder -- who is still working out of Cylo's Manhattan offices "helping to wind up Cylo TVC's business" -- left the company with Cylo director Edouard Nammour on December 31 to form a company called Free Market Films, which will also represent Cylo director Clay Staub. The company is already doing work, says Kinder, and the partners are in the process of working out the details of the venture. "What we're doing right now is figuring out how to implement Free Market Films on a practical basis," she says.

Director Jeff Kaumeyer, meanwhile, signed with Los Angeles-based production company Detour last week. The remainder of the company's roster, which had dwindled significantly in 2001, included Rachel Harms and Les Sharpe.
