DiMassimo Adds Carr, Changes Name

Nigel Carr, previously managing partner and general manager of KPBwest, has joined New York's DiMassimo Brand Advertising as managing partner and chief strategy officer. Carr -- a planner by discipline -- will also add his name to the door as the agency changes its name to DiMassimo Carr Brand Advertising.

The move reunites Carr with agency founder Mark DiMassimo, whom he worked with at Kirshenbaum Bond & Partners in New York until 1996, when DiMassimo forged out on his own. Carr's own 12-year affiliation with Kirshenbaum ended earlier this year, just before holding company MDC acquired a 60 percent stake in the agency.

"People have been asking me for many years why I decided to set up this agency on my own," DiMassimo says. "But I was just waiting for the right partner. I worked with Nigel at Kirshenbaum, and it was just a terrific partnership. Working with great people is what I do this for. I started this agency because I thought I'd have more say in the kinds of people I would work with and the kinds of clients I would work with. The reason I like to work with Nigel is that he's all about passion."
