Folino Named CCO at Dailey & Associates

On Monday, Mike Folino, former creative director at TBWAChiatDayL.A., will start work as chief creative officer at Los Angeles agency Dailey & Associates. He takes over for Cliff Einstein, the agency's longtime creative director, who has overseen the department for more than three decades. Einstein will remain at the agency as chairman.

Folino, who left Chiat in October, worked on both the Adidas and PlayStation accounts in Playa del Rey. Prior to that he helped launch Fallon's Santa Monica outpost and spent four years at Wieden + Kennedy, where he worked on Nike. As for his new gig, Folino says he has no specific plans for the creative department. "So far, there hasn't been talk of any sweeping changes underneath, but I think a certain amount of change is going to be inevitable when everybody's been reporting to one person for 30 years and someone new comes in," he laughs. "What I'd love to do is help turn this place into a powerhouse agency. It has wonderful clients and creative opportunities and is a very smart strategic agency. I think we're poised to do well." He's especially excited by the breadth of the shop's roster, which includes Safeway, Ford Dealers, Callaway Golf, Honda Motorcycles and Nestle. "Unlike a lot of L.A. shops that are 95 percent cars, this one has auto, but there's also motorcycle, golf. It's nice to be able to do a host of things."
