A new twitter account has revealed the launch of TBWA's latest addition to the Media Arts family, TBWA/Digital Arts. Led by chief digital officer Colleen DeCourcy, Digital Arts will be based in New York but will serve the entire network in the form of all things digital.
Talent-wise, the team is off to an impressive start, with former Droga5 digital media CD Scott Witt taking on the post as ECD/Media;former digital strategy director at Goodby, Silverstein & Partners Hashem Bajwa, now executive director Strategy and Innovation; former 180/Riot CD Ben Abramowitz, who will serve as Director of Creative Technologies; and former partners at integrated content agency Local Theory Jonathan Stern and Howard Pyle. Stern, former Local Theory COO, will serve as executive director, operations while Pyle will be executive director, creative services.
ECD Witt had formerly worked at Denuo, Mediavest and Nurun and recently helped to lead Droga5's digital work on Puma as well as efforts for the New Museum, Adidas and others. At Goodby, Bajwa served a broad role that encompassed everything from shaping digital strategies for clients, creating partnerships with tech companies, and implementing agency innovation programs. Bajwa is also an avid speaker and blogger on new developments in tech and marketing, on his own BrainSells as well as for Creativity sibling publication Advertising Age's Digital Next blog. At 180/Riot Abramowitz had been part of the team that won the global adidas acount and previously led on adidas while at EVB, working on the Brotherhood basketball effort and 2K Games.
