How would that Poang chair look in your living room? Now you can find out, via this app by developers at District Nerds, which lets you "preview" furniture in the IKEA catalog to see how it would look in your house.
The app, which was not sanctioned by the Swedish retailer, was built in four weeks, and since its release, has had 35,000 users from over 90 countries. The developers told Creativity that they had used their "iPhone-loving wives" to QA-test the app.
In what seems to be a pretty sexist move, they're billing it as the most useful app ever for women -- but we see it as handy to furniture shoppers, whatever their gender.
Other than that characterization, we think IKEA should snap this one up soon, as it seems to fit right in with the retailer's 2013 catalog. Created by McCann Erickson, it comes with a digital offering -- an app that unlocks a variety of extra content.
