The angry translator shtick is back, and this time Keegan-Michael Key is putting the character to use advocating for refugees.
The anger translator was a pop-culture hit when the character appeared in the "Key and Peele" sketch show on Comedy Central. Key played a translator who would channel the supposed anger of the coolheaded President Obama (played by Jordan Peele).
Key reprised the role for the International Rescue Committee, which released a video of the anger translator interpreting the words of David Miliband, president and CEO of the IRC—which launched the new campaign—and Britain's one-time secretary of state for foreign and commonwealth.
"The world is going to hell people," Key screams in the video. "Sixty-five million displaced people around the world. What the hell is going on. Now, come on somebody has to do something about this."
The IRC showed the new campaign at a New York City event on Thursday.
