Sure, Apple still sells the iPad 2 (just like it sells iPhone 3Gs, iPod Shuffles and Classics), but you would hardly call last year's iPad a halo product, especially with the new iPad in stores. But you wouldn't know it from Apple's billboard advertising, which still features the old iPad. We snapped this photo of the massive billboard crowing Apple's location in New York's Meatpacking District.
Just as every Apple marketing move was scrutinized for Steve Jobs' fingerprints, so every move is now scrutinized for lack thereof. Would Mr. Jobs, famous for getting deeply involved in the details of Apple's marketing, be OK with last year's iPad on top of a flagship store in Manhattan?
