OMD Shuffles Top Managment Execs

Media Shop Says Move Reflects Emphasis on Digital

NEW YORK ( -- Omnicom media agency OMD is shuffling two tops execs to better integrate digital into its media operations, a familiar refrain for media agencies as marketers continue to dump more dollars into digital.

Scott Hagedorn, U.S. director of OMD Digital, will become the managing director of OMD East. Mark Stewart, who previously held that position, will be named global account and strategy director for the agency's Visa account, which recently expanded after the agency won additional markets in a global review.

The management shuffle comes less than a week after an announcement that Sean Finnegan, the CEO of Omnicom Media Group Digital, will be leaving to become the chief media officer at Vibrant Media. Mr. Finnegan is helping the holding company to find his replacement.

OMD is also searching for a U.S. digital director and expects to announce the appointment in about a month, a spokeswoman said.

In addition to the management shuffles, OMD is hoping to better integrate digital with continuing employee training.

"These shifts represent the industry's move to a more digitally focused media strategy," Page Thompson, CEO of OMD North America, said in a statement. "So-called traditional media is certainly still a critical component of the media mix but we are preparing for the future, as media and technology evolve and as digital platforms become more prolific."
