$6 Million Effort Gets Cameo From Anna Kournikova

NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- Internet portal Terra Lycos breaks the first of two 30-second spots tonight in prime time on top-rated shows CSI, on CBS, and ER, on NBC.

The $6 million, four-week TV campaign, dubbed "Inspiration," promotes a variety of the the portal's channels on its network. The effort, by Interpublic Group of Cos.' Hill Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos, Boston, will run during the season finales of network programs and on cable.

The first spot, which touts the travel, sports, finance and games channels, incorporates the voice-over "Immerse yourself in the only Internet site vast enough, vivid enough, varied enough to explore all the worlds you live in."

Tennis star Anna Kournikova will make a brief appearance in the second spot, which debuts in two weeks highlighting the search, matchmaking, music and shopping channels.

Waltham, Mass.-based Terra Lycos has had a relationship with Ms. Kournikova, who is also a spokesceleb for Charles Schwab and Adidas, for more than a year, using her primarily to promote its Lycos Sports sub-brand.
