Crown Media cuts 130 jobs

[new york] Crown Media Holdings, operator of the Hallmark Channel cable network, last week cut 130 jobs, 30% of staff, including most international marketing and advertising positions. The company said it will reduce operating costs by $25 million, including cuts in marketing and programming. The layoffs included Barry Frey, senior VP-global advertising sales, who will leave after a transition period, and Jennifer Ametrano, director-global advertising sales.
