Dentsu, Publicis plan sports unit

[tokyo] Dentsu and Publicis Groupe will form a global sports-marketing business in January, the first in a series of joint ventures planned by the companies. Each takes a 45% stake in iSE (International Sports & Entertainment), with the remaining 10% owned by New York-based Sports Mondial, a sports-marketing company whose CEO, George Taylor, will be CEO of the new company. Dentsu already has extensive sports-marketing expertise, including working with international soccer federation FIFA to find World Cup sponsors, and Publicis will contribute its client-service network.
