[montreal] Cossette Communications Group, Canada's largest ad group, has opened a youth marketing unit called Alias Urban Marketing in Vancouver. Alias' first campaign is a text messaging campaign for the reality TV show "The Bachelorette" and local TV channel Citytv Vancouver. Citytv spots urge viewers to use cellphones to pick a man for the bachelorette, get text alerts with news and gossip about the show and send jokes and trivia to Citytv's breakfast TV show. Prizes include trips to New York and cellphones. Simon Crowther, Alias' managing director, says Alias staff will be added to Cossette's other offices in Canada.
