Mindshare Volunteers to Help Clean Up New York

Agency Team Pitches In for Hands on New York Day

A team of media planners and buyers from media agency Mindshare got their hands dirty this past weekend at the Red Hook Community Farm in Brooklyn as part of a citywide program to clean up New York.

The Mindshare team, which was led by Ellie Marble, associate director, new business, and included Dorn Wesly, the agency's new head of business planning and marketing science, joined 50 other volunteers from various business sectors to participate in Hands on New York Day. The New York Cares project drew 5,000 volunteers, who worked to give a facelift to 69 public spaces in New York's five boroughs.

At the Brooklyn site, the Mindshare team and its friends put on garden gloves, picked up yard tools and went to work weeding, spreading mulch, turning beds, building irrigation systems and painting fences. They worked from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., when they called it a day and celebrated with an outdoor barbecue.
