Agency to Work on $20 Million Campaign

NEW YORK ( -- Cingular Wireless, preparing for a push to Hispanic consumers, has named WPP Group's MendozaDillon as its agency for an estimated $20 million
Cingular is gearing up for an advertising push at the U.S. Hispanic market.
U.S. Hispanic creative account, executives familiar with the situation said.

Promotion, media buying
Starcom's Relay Sponsorship and Event Marketing, will handle sales promotion, while Omnicom Group's OMD Latina will handle media buying. Starcom is part of Publicis Groupe's Starcom MediaVest Group,

Earlier this year the creative account moved to Dieste, Harmel & Partners, Dallas, owned by Omnicom Group, the parent of Cingular's general market agency, BBDO Worldwide.

MendozaDillon, based in Irvine, Calif., pitched against Dieste and Publicis-backed Bromley Communications, San Antonio, Texas.

Atlanta-based Cingular is a joint venture of BellSouth and SBC Communications.
