Sundance Channel has named Kirk Iwanowski to the newly created post of exec VP-marketing, branded entertainment and sponsorship, to oversee the company's plan to allow marketers to associate themselves with the channel's commercial-free programming starting Jan. 1. On-air marketing will come in the form of tagged tune-ins, vignettes, interstitials and presenting sponsorships. Sundance Channel has already experimented with brands through programs such as "Iconoclasts" and "House of Boateng." | Bacardi U.S.A. has launched a print campaign promoting a tie-in with Universal Pictures' big-screen version of "Miami Vice," which hits theaters July 28. The Bacardi Mojito is called the "official cocktail" of the movie, according to the ads. | "American Idol" judge Randy Jackson appears in an Oreo's TV commercial, on packaging and on Nabisco's website, promoting a singing contest to choose a new rendition of the cookie's jingle.
