American Express helped finance the 10-part Travel Channel series "Trip of a Lifetime" that launched Nov. 16. The series was created and produced by MindShare Entertainment, which also has shepherded brand-backed programs from Dove and Axe. AmEx travel experts as well as editors of Travel & Leisure, an American Express Publishing title, appear on the show, which sends people on dream vacations. An online component enables viewers to design their own exotic trips. | Ogilvy & Mather has hired Kym Blanchard as director of branded alliances, a new position. She most recently was associate publisher-marketing at Vibe Magazine, and worked in marketing at In Style, Essence, Real Simple and People magazines. Ms. Blanchard reports to Andy Berndt, managing director of Ogilvy's New York office, and collaborates with Colin Mitchell, chief strategic officer, and Doug Scott, executive director-branded content and entertainment. | Staples' MailMate junk-mail shredder appeared in a prominent cameo role on the Nov. 16 episode of "The Office." Staples used characters from the show in ads to promote the $70 device and send viewers to the stores. The deal was brokered by Davie-Brown Entertainment.
