After dipping to No. 3 last year, Stacey Lynn Koerner, exec VP-director of global research integration at Initiative, New York, regained her title as the quotable queen, capturing the No. 1 spot with a score of 205, in Ad Age's annual MediaTalk survey.
Prepared for Ad Age by Delahaye Medialink Research, Norwalk, Conn., MediaTalk ranks leading media players' mentions in a number of media outlets in the year leading up to the Media Mavens Special Report. While Ms. Koerner's score dropped 10% from last year, it was still almost 20% higher than the next leading contender, Steve Sternberg, exec VP-director, audience analysis at Magna Global USA, who won last year's ranking. While the same five media executives captured the top five spots for the past two years running, the cumulative scores of these top media executives dropped 16.5%. Other notable movement came from Starcom MediaVest: Renetta McCann, who was promoted from CEO of Starcom USA to CEO the Americas, Starcom MediaVest Group, shot up 150% in the rankings based in part on the buzz surrounding her new job title.
