NEW YORK ( -- On Nov. 14, Dr. Valerie Steele, director of the museum at New York's Fashion Institute of Technology, 'Elle’s' international creative director Gilles Bensimon, editor-in-chief Roberta Myers and fashion director Nina Garcia, were joined by guests including designers Zac Posen and Alice Roi, and Redken’s Karen Fuss-Zipp at the museum's first permanent exhibition of 250 years of fashion and textile history. NEW YORK ( -- The Third Annual Child Magazine Children’s Champions award ceremony was held Nov. New York City’s Harmonie Club. Child magazine’s editor-in-chief Miriam Arond announced the six honorees: journalist Linda Ellerbee; Childhood cancer and blood disorder expert G. Denman Hammond, M.D.;Founder of the Young People's Chorus of New York City Francisco Núñez: Green Chimney's Childrens Services Founder Samuel B. Ross, Jr., Ph.D.; Actress Marlo Thomas for her philanthropy of children's issues; and New York Yankees Manager Joe Torre, for his efforts to end domestic violence. Top photo right, (from l.)
