Toby Byrne joins as executive VP, national ad sales. Byrne previously spent 20 years at Fox, including as its ad chief for over half a decade. Bryne left Fox in 2016, later joining Zefr, an ad tech company built to juggle the fragmented digital advertising landscape. There, Byrne spent six years as president.

Byrne’s experience lends itself to A+E’s position in the quickly evolving landscape. The parent of brands such as A&E, Lifetime and the History Channel has fashioned itself as a content supplier to streamers and FAST channels while its competitors have spent immense resources erecting their own platforms to varying degrees of success. Byrne will report to Peter Olsen, president of ad sales at A+E Networks, who previously held the title.
