Seeking Bigger Ad Programs, Clear Channel Promotes Castelli After One Month

AOL Veteran Will Oversee Sales Operations Across Divisions

Clear Channel Media and Entertainment is promoting Tim Castelli after a month on the job.

The company has appointed Mr. Castelli, who joined in March as exec VP-digital sales, to the newly created post of president-national sales, marketing and partnerships in a bid to sell more national integrated programs. Clear Channel Digital, Strategic Partnerships, Clear Channel Connections, Clear Channel Radio Sales and Premiere Network Sales -- all of which previously reported to CEO John Hogan -- will now report to Mr. Castelli.

Called Clear Channel Radio until a name change in January, Clear Channel Media and Entertainment is trying to better unite radio, digital, live events and other platforms.

Clear Channel is also bringing in industry vets, including Conde Nast's Holly Lang as senior VP-marketing solutions and MSG's Chris Monteleone as senior VP-event sponsorship sales and development. Charlie Rahilly, president-national advertising platforms, is leaving after more than 20 years at the company.

Mr. Castelli is now searching for his replacement as a exec VP-digital sales, a role in which he had been preparing to create an ad platform for Clear Channel's IHeartRadio custom stations. Before joining Clear Channel, he was head of AOL's Eastern U.S. region.
