'Better Homes & Gardens' Publisher Builds Up Digital Services at Marketing Unit

NEW YORK ( -- Meredith Corp., the publisher of Better Homes & Gardens and Ladies' Home Journal, has acquired interactive agency O'Grady Meyers in a bid to build digital services at its marketing unit, the company said yesterday.

With the deal, Los Angeles-based O'Grady Meyers became part of Meredith Integrated Marketing, which offers database, customer relationship and other services to clients like Procter & Gamble Co., Home Depot and DaimlerChrysler. Terms were not disclosed.

"We've been aware and indeed have been delivering programs for our clients that include digital," said Wendy Riches, exec VP, Meredith Integrated Marketing and Interactive Media. "In exactly the same way, O'Grady Meyers has been delivering marketing communications for their clients in ways that include offline services. But neither of us has a strong capability on the other side."

Meredith Integrated Marketing and O'Grady Meyers have also worked together on a common client, Nestle USA's infant nutrition division. The interactive agency employs about 40 people.
