CHICAGO (AdAge.com) -- Total radio ad sales were down 6% in August, according to the Radio Advertising Bureau, with local revenue off 4% and national dollars dropping 14%.
The 6% decline follows a consistent decline every month this year when compared with the same months in 2000. July revenues were down 4%, June down 8%, May and April down 9%, March down 10%, February down 6% and January down 3%.
The 14% decline in national revenue may be a sign of stabilization, however, holding steady with the 14% drop the industry saw in July.
