So here's what we know: CNN screwed up. Last Thursday it ran a story on its website that linked hedge-fund manager Anthony Scaramucci -- a Trump confidant -- to a Russian investment fund.

It ran a story it didn't fully stand behind, quickly pulled it, immediately apologized, heads promptly rolled, and the network announced stringent new internal reviews of Trump-Russia reporting.

But never mind -- cue the pile-on!
