Every weekday, we bring you the Ad Age/iSpot Hot Spots, new and trending TV commercials tracked by iSpot.tv, a company that catalogs, tags and measures activity around TV ads in real time. The New Releases here ran on TV for the first time yesterday. The Most Engaging ads are showing sustained social heat, ranked by SpotShare scores reflecting the percent of digital activity associated with each one over the past week. See the methodology here.
Among the new releases, Activision has a new spot out for "Call of Duty: Black Ops III," while Trivago brings hotel prices under one roof for a holiday celebration. Supermodel Natalia Vodianova stars a spot for Calvin Klein's new fragrance "Euphoria," and Kohl's is after you, late shopper, with sales on jewelry, fragrance and "Star Wars" apparel.
Finally, Sonic brings back its Drive-in Guys (and their owl) to promote a half-price sale on footlong hot dogs on Dec. 17. One of them complains that they missed hours of food because the owl wouldn't come out before sundown. Maybe next time don't bring her?
