Ad Age Daily World Wire available on disc

Ad Age's Daily World Wire on Disc, an electronic database of all the news stories carried on the wire service in 1995, will be available May 27. Quarterly updates, starting with the news of 1996, also will be available.

The full text of more than 7,000 news stories are held on two 3.5-inch discs. The discs also contain Folio Infobase software, which allows the user to find stories containing relevant words or word conbinations.

The Daily World Wire is a weekday wire service based in London which supplies marketing, advertising and media news from around the world directly to subscribers' computer screens. Ad Age's global network of correspondents gathers the news along with Ad Age's U.S.-based journalists.

"This product will save World Wire subscribers' time in searching for past news stories. It's also a unique research tool for anyone who needs to quickly pull together global marketing information for a pitch or a report," said Bill Britt, Daily World Wire editor.

For Daily World Wire subscribers, the 1995 edition costs $595 and quarterly updates will cost $150. For non-subscribers, the 1995 edition is on sale for $895 until Sept. 1.
