Ad Age Group expands with 'Media International'

The Ad Age Group has acquired London-based Media International from Reed Business Information, adding new strength to Advertising Age International's global news coverage.

The buyer, Crain Communications Europe LLC, is a subsidiary of Crain Communications Inc., the publisher of weekly Advertising Age and the monthly Ad Age International. Media International, also a monthly, will be incorporated as an ongoing regular section in Ad Age International beginning with the May issue.

Media International is the oldest title to cover the media industry exclusively, having begun 25 years ago as a newsletter. Its coverage focuses on news, strategy and data affecting the European media community, as well as profiles of top media professionals.

Ad Age International is the leading global publication covering news, strategy and trends for international marketers, and agency and media executives in all regions of the world.

Ed Erhardt, group publisher of the Ad Age Group, sees this move as extremely beneficial to the readers of both Ad Age International and Media International.

The Ad Age Group consists of Advertising Age, Ad Age International, Creativity, Business Marketing, and, along with other brands such as the Daily World Wire, the Euromarketing e-mail newsletter, the Ad Age Edge video network and the Marketing 20/20 Conference series.

Internationally, the Ad Age Group boasts more than 40 correspondents and regional editorial offices in London, New York and Hong Kong, complementing six U.S. news bureaus.
