Ad Age Promotes Scott Donaton and Jonah Bloom

Donaton Named Associate Publisher; Bloom Is New Editor

NEW YORK ( -- Advertising Age today announced two promotions designed to enhance its leadership position in coverage of advertising, marketing and media across print, electronic media and events.
Scott Donaton has been promoted from editor of 'Advertising Age' to associate publisher of the Ad Age Group.

Scott Donaton was promoted to associate publisher of the Ad Age Group, overseeing areas such as new-product development, online extensions, conferences and events, and global licensing. Jonah Bloom was named to replace him as editor, overseeing the editorial operations of the weekly publication and its Web site.

Growth of new brands
"The Ad Age Group has grown significantly, with new electronic products and brand extensions. In this new position, Scott will be fully devoted to the growth of our brands and new-business opportunities in the U.S. and globally," said Jill Manee, VP-publisher of The Ad Age Group.

"As executive editor, Jonah has been a significant part of the management team that has successfully expanded the scope and strength of Advertising Age. As editor, he will continue that positive growth and maintain our leadership position," Ms. Manee said.

editor. During his tenure, Advertising Age won various editorial excellence awards, including two Jesse H. Neal Awards this year, when Mr. Donaton also was awarded a McAllister Editorial Fellowship. He was earlier inducted into the American Advertising Federation's Hall of Achievement.

Jonah Bloom
Mr. Bloom joined Advertising Age in July 2002 as executive editor, overseeing the day-to-day editorial operations. A veteran journalist, he previously was editor in chief of the U.S. edition of PR Week. He was instrumental in the launch of that publication, first as news editor and later as executive editor. He also served as launch editor in the U.K. for Campaign Media Business, a weekly spinoff of Campaign.

"At a time of revolutionary change in the marketing and media businesses, Jonah has played a vital role in shaping and executing Ad Age's response to keep us on top," Mr. Donaton said. "He is absolutely the best editor to take this media brand forward, and I'm thrilled to continue to work with him and with Jill to do exactly that."

Mr. Bloom will report to Mr. Donaton, who will report to Ms. Manee.
