CHICAGO-Advertising Age today makes its global debut on the Internet's World Wide Web.

The site ( takes advantage of the interactive medium to bring the magazine to life for advertising, marketing and media professionals.

"The Ad Age Web site is an exciting natural extension to our growing presence and leadership role in the world of interactive media and marketing," said VP-Publisher Ed Erhardt. "We are especially pleased with the utility and value the Web site will offer loyal users of Ad Age branded information and the many sponsorship and interactive marketing opportunities we can now present."

The home page includes links to a daily news wire, Daily Deadline; an area dedicated to Interactive Media & Marketing; Smart Marketers, with links to Ad Age advertisers and other hot marketing sites on the Web; discussions and debates on interACTIONS; and key industry Facts & Features. A Critiques section will review new marketing Web sites and include hypertext links to those home pages.

There will also be links to special features, beginning with "50 Years of Television-A look at TV's impact on the ad world."

Transactions, offering subscriptions to Ad Age magazines and other branded products, will be live next month. Users can also register with the site and add their name to an e-mail list.

The unveiling of the Ad Age Web site comes two weeks after the launch of AdMarket, presented by Advertising Age, HotWired and Organic Online.
