First Such Move Since World War II

WASHINGTON ( -- Moving to be ready to craft any needed messages to respond to further terrorism incidents or U.S. military action, the Advertising Council today named a "crisis response team" of ad professionals to oversee strategy.

Headed by Michael Sennott, outgoing vice chairman and senior partner of Interpublic Group of Cos.' Lowe Lintas Partners, the team will include Nina DiSesa, chairman-chief creative officer of Interpublic's McCann-Erickson WorldGroup, Andrew Langer, vice chairman Lowe Lintas; and Allen Rosenshine, chairman-CEO of Omnicom Group's BBDO Worldwide as creative review task force co-chairs, and Reginald K. Brack, chairman emeritus of Time Inc. as fund-raising chairman.

The Ad Council had no similar team during the Korean War, the Vietnam war or the Gulf War, but council President-CEO Peggy Conlin said forming a task force is necessary because of the scope of the terrorist incidents Sept. 11 and the length of the coming battle against terrorism.
