Advertising Age Promotes Alice Cuneo, Taps Stephanie Thompson

Advertising Age has promoted one of its senior editors and hired a new reporter to cover a key industry.

Alice Z. Cuneo, a San Francisco-based senior editor, was named West Coast editor, a new position. The promotion recognizes Ad Age's increased commitment to coverage of the region. Ms. Cuneo joined Ad Age full time in 1996 after more than a dozen years as a San Francisco correspondent. She earlier worked at the San Jose Mercury News and UPI.

In New York, Stephanie Thompson has joined Ad Age as a reporter covering the food industry. Those responsibilities had been handled by Judann Pollack, who recently was promoted to assistant managing editor. In addition to her editing duties, Ms. Pollack continues to cover tobacco marketing.

Ms. Thompson was most recently a reporter for Brandweek.
