Advertising Age and Bloomberg's AdMarket 50 index of 50 top publicly traded marketers, agency and media companies rose 3.3% in the last 12 months. That compares to a 9.1% gain for the Standard & Poor's 500 index and a gain of 2.59% for the Dow Jones Industrial Average. Comparisons are based on closing prices on Dec. 30, 2004 vs. Dec. 31, 2003.
